Day 10

1. Got a nice message from someone I used to serve. Got a message on my phone from someone I used to serve and lead last year thanking me for the time spent in our group, some small things I helped her out with, and the friend I was to her. I never really expected a message like this and I'm just happy to see them get more and more joyful as they grow in faith. But to get a message like this out of the blue just reassures me that I'm not wasting all of my time here on this earth, that I am doing a small part to help others, and that we must keep on doing my part so that others may do the same to the people they serve or come in contact with to show the whole world that God is present and real and loving through the gift of other people.

2. Saw two very good friends. Funny because these two friends are connected to me because but are also connected to each other because they share a certain person in their lives. To see them in the same night without all the tension of their connection was very good. They are both very good friends and I was happy to see them after the break to catch up on stories since they both were a big part of me getting to my goals last year.

3. Great teamwork in a tense meeting. With deadlines coming closer and closer the tension at work it building up. We had to cover so much ground today and I guess people were getting a little edgy. What started out as meeting with "a little more fire" ended up with a great show of teamwork, flexibility, and understanding for us and our partners. I believe that when you show that all there is to accomplish but the end goal and not the personal interests, everyone becomes more helpful and passionate. I'm glad were all on the same page as this one because it really brings out the beauty of teamwork.

4. Discovered I share interest in Steams in the Desert with one of my team mates. I had a small conversation with one of my team mates when I saw a copy of Stream in the Desert on his desk. This is the book that helped me so much when I started to work on my faith. It was given as a gift and I have given this devotional as a gift to my friends as well. More than owning the same book as this person, I think the blessing is really in the comfort in knowing we share the same interest in our faith and that the Lord has been good to put me in a place where I find people who share more in common with me than the address on my business card.
